Natural and Traditional Medicine to Scientific Debate in Cuba

The 6th Congress of the Cuban Society of Natural and Traditional Medicine, Bionat 2018, today begins its scientific sessions with the aim of analyzing experiences on the advances of the specialty.

According to the program, the Symposium on Traditional Indigenous and Afro-descendant Medicine, sponsored by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) with the assistance of about 10 countries, is scheduled for this day.



The Second Cuba-Japan Integrative Medicine Symposium will also take place, with a large delegation from the Asian country interested in learning how natural and traditional medicine (NTM) is integrated into the island's National Health System (SNS).

The associated exhibition: The achievements and challenges of the themes related to the congresses will open this Tuesday at the venue of the event, at the Havana Convention Center, with the presence of several national entities.

Within the stand of the Cuban Society of NTM, the Network of Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicines of the Americas will be exhibited, thanks to an effort of PAHO, said the president of the organizing committee, Evelyn González.

A naturist nutritional orientation room will open its doors, where the 10 modalities of natural medicine regulated in our SNS will be presented, González said.

Acupuncture and related techniques, homeopathy, floral therapy, phytoapitherapy, ozone therapy, nutritional guidance naturist, ancestral therapeutic exercises and medical hydrology, are some of them.

According to the organizers, the different Bionat 2018 conclaves are expected to promote cooperation among nations, the exchange of experiences, sustainable practices and the transfer of knowledge.
