Pablo Milanés and Buena Fe on Stages in Havana
«After almost three years I bring new experiences, but also the songs that the audience wants to sing. It's a pleasure to sing again to my best audience, that of Havana, "Pablo Milanes told his editor about his upcoming concert on September 7 at 9:00 p.m. at the Karl Marx theater in Havana.
The troubadour has just returned from Spain to reconnect with his audience in Cuba, in a presentation he will dedicate to the 500 years of Havana and review the classics of
his career, those that have accompanied several generations of Cubans for more than 30 years and have chronicled the life of the country.
For many Cubans, the last months of the year are not complete without a concert by this founder of Nueva Trova. The troubadour has made these presentations a kind of ritual between him and his followers, between his songs and the hectic daily life of Havana.
Pablo has always had a very intimate relationship with Havana, the city that saw him grow as a troubadour in the complex 60s. He has dedicated songs like Vestida de mar or Canto a la Habana, where he can not hide his nostalgia for the city, its perspective on its evolution and the ties of union to an island that keeps beating under its feet, although many times the distance separates it from its scenarios.
His most recent concert in the Karl Marx was in 2016, when he presented the album Amor with his daughter Haydée Milanés to full theater, with versions of his songs defended by the author of Libélula. Two years later Haydée is recording the album Amor Deluxe, with collaborations of world-class artists, who came together to sing Pablo's songs.
Since the entrance of 2018 the troubadour has experienced a moment of creative effervescence. He is preparing several albums, including one with his own songs, another of salsa and jazz, and is waiting for a project that will take to the rock scene several of his songs. Tickets for the concert are on sale from Tuesday at the box office of Karl Marx Theater.
