Values Formation Projects Extended in Holguin by the FMC
The development of projects dedicated to the formation of values and the preservation of traditions, stands out among the achievements of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) in the province of Holguín.
An example of these initiatives is the Transform to educate program, implemented in the population settlements of
Piedra Blanca and Alcides Pino, located in the provincial capital, which is mainly aimed at new generations.
Rosa Cabrera, pedagogue and promoter of the program, indicated that through didactic games, audiovisual materials, talks with specialists, children develop solidarity, equality, honesty, among other values from an early age.
She stressed that the project also has among its objectives the promotion of Cuban traditions and legends, as part of a strategy to strengthen national identity among adolescents and young people.
The women's organization also extends initiatives to contribute to family harmony and the emancipation of women in settlements such as El Negrito, Los Guillenes and Harlem, in the municipalities of Banes and Holguín, respectively, said Oleida Teruel, an official of the FMC.
He pointed out that with these actions led by the Houses of Orientation for Women and the Family; they have managed to reduce the rates of divorce and pregnancy in adolescence, which constitutes a positive result.
The FMC has among its objectives to promote policies and programs aimed at achieving the full exercise of equality at all levels of society and currently has more than four million members.
