Rehabilitative Tourism, an Option for the Summer in Holguín
The rehabilitation tourism is one of the options of the Cuban Association of the Blind (ANCI) to contribute to the quality of life of its members during the summer months, as part of the activities of the organization in the summer season.
The initiative includes tours of historical and recreational sites of the eastern territory, where there are more than three thousand people with visual disabilities, said Norberto Nate, president of the group.
He stressed that healthy recreation allows contact with nature and facilitates cane management and mobility in open spaces, which is an example of the programs promoted in Cuba for the benefit of this sector, one of the achievements of the Revolution since 1959.
Within these initiatives, he said, are also inserted activities for professional development and writing in Braille, necessary for the incorporation into the social and cultural life of the Caribbean island of the blind and visually impaired linked to psychology, law, physiotherapy , among other professions.
In the province of Holguin, a multi-service center is being built, which will include a computer room, a meeting room, a recreation area, a library, a mini-apartment and a parking lot.
The ANCI was founded on July 20, 1975 and has among its missions to enhance the social inclusion of its members through art, culture, sports and recreation, taking into account the potential of each person.
