The National Act for the Day of the Hydraulic Worker was held at the Mayarí Dam, a distinctive site of the great work of the East - West transfer.

A representation of the companies of the sector of the Holguin territory attended the celebration.

The indispensable evocation of Fidel, creator of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources, awarded the meeting that was presided over by the member of the Provincial Party Bureau, Carlos Santiago Céspedes, and by the President of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources, Antonio Rodríguez Rodríguez.

They deserved the greatest recognition, united to the host province, the workers of the

Engineering Services Company, Integrated Transfers Project Division. In addition, the Faustino Pérez label and the Armando Mestre distinction honored a group of workers from the province.

During its 56 years, the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources managed to multiply the reservoir capacity of the country, expand the access of the population to the aqueduct systems and advance in programs that guarantee the efficient and sustainable use of water. The provinces of Santiago de Cuba and Villa Clara were highlighted in the celebration.
