Mayarí Dam for a Generation of Cleaner Energy

The construction of the Small Hydroelectric Power Plant (PCHE in Spanish) on the left bank of the Mayarí dam, in the province of Holguín, is approximately 72 percent.

The access road, the control room, control and the point of delivery to the National Electroenergetic System were concluded. Slates, cells and electrical panels were installed, while the work is being done on the third stage of the foundation of the powerhouse.

The plant will have a generating capacity of 1.9 Mega Wat, and will join its similar company located on the right side of the reservoir, in the municipality of Mayarí, which began its contribution to the system in October 2016.

The aforementioned PCHE goes through the last stage of scheduled maintenance. When certifying the work carried out, the start-up of its motor generators will be given, which contributed 27.2 Gw to the National Electric Power System, which represents a saving of more than 6 thousand tons of fuel.
