Summoned from Holguin the Grand Prix of the North Atlantic

The organizing committee of the fifth edition of the North Atlantic Grand Prix Vladimir Malakhov, choreography and performance contest to be held in the city of Holguín from September 23 to 29 reported the official announcement of the contest.

Maricel Godoy, director of the Codanza Company and coordinator of the event, explained to the Cuban News Agency that all those interested in competing could do so in the modalities of classical, neoclassical and contemporary dance.

She specified that the duration of the pieces should not exceed 10 minutes and specifically those works that opt for the "Grand Prix Codanza" or the "Grand Prix Vladimir Malakhov" for the best staging should not have been awarded in other contests before.

The jury that will evaluate the quality of the works of the contest is composed of the Ukrainian star of the world ballet Vladimir Malakhov, the Catalan choreographer Maria Rovira and Paul Seaquist, international ballet entrepreneur.

Godoy confirmed so far the presence of three dance companies from Spain, Mexico and the United States and recalled that registration to the contest will close for foreign applicants on July 20, while for Cubans  on August 30.
