The Provincial Center of Houses of Culture in Holguín and the Department of Audiovisual Creation summon to participate in the contest "My movie on the cell phone" which will be open to the creativity of all those interested in telling a good story from their mobile device.

Alejandra Rodríguez Segura (Jandrys), provincial audiovisual creation methodologist and organizer of the contest, explained that the contest was an idea that arose during her stay in Venezuela, as part of the mission Cultura Corazón Adentro, a project with significant results in the South American nation and that is now being implemented for the first time in the northeastern geography.

She specified that people from anywhere of Holguín geography may compete, without age or profession limits; besides, an exclusive filming with the mobile device is required, in sequence shot, without cuts, and with an approximate duration of three minutes.

In times of so much uncertainty and social isolation, the fundamental purpose of "My movie on the cell phone" is to offer children, young people and the elderly a means of escape towards creativity, taking advantage not only of the popular Cuban imagination, but also the usefulness of technology, indicated the also director and cultural promoter.

She pointed out that social networks and digital platforms will also be the propitious stage to exchange some suggestions and advice on how to develop stories, from the audiovisual codes, without this implying establishing limits or straitjackets.

Proposals will be received in digital or DVD format until September 3rd, the date on which the jury, made up of young and experienced Cuban audiovisual producers, will begin their work sessions to select the five best stories.

The verdict, which is scheduled to be announced on October 20th, in order to celebrate Cuban Culture Day, also intends to deliver multiple collateral awards, sponsored by the Hermanos Saiz Association, the Faculty of Audiovisual Media of the University of the Arts in Holguín and Ediciones La Luz, a label that will recognize, in a special way, the work done by the youngest members of the house.

In the same way, the audiovisual contest will include collateral samples in which projects that involve friends from all over the world will be exhibited, mainly from Mexico and Uruguay, who will also be sharing their reality in three minutes of film on their cell phones.
